A longer handle makes a huge difference – keeps your hand farther from the heat. Mine has a nice extended stainless handle with a slight curve for grip, and it stays relatively cool even after 10–15 minutes on the pan. No need for oven mitts most of the time. The screen itself is stainless mesh, catches oil well, sits stable, and cleans easily. I use it daily for frying and never burn my fingers. The design is thoughtful and practical.
